I had to stop and think
about this recently. I found myself in an amazing
Millionaires Retreat and the wisdom shared was primarily about
real estate. Trust me when I tell you that I have my hands
full with 'The Self-Love Movement', the upcoming projects
that we will introduce and the 'Welcome to Womanhood' College
Tour. I don’t have the time, energy nor interest in
Real Estate Investing.
So, while I sat through 2
full days of millionaire after millionaire sharing about their
experiences with Real Estate investing, I realized that everyone
I knew passed through my mind. I thought, ”This would be
great for Robbyn or Marilyn. Oh my goodness, Charles needs
to be here“.
I saw the benefits of the
information, and I saw how simple it would be to take heed to
it. What I didn’t realize until the end of the seminar was
that the information was NOT for Robbyn, Marilyn or Charles.
The truth was that I was the one at the seminar. I was the
one who heard the information and I was the one that it was
ultimately designed to benefit. (I’ll keep you
posted on my Real Estate investing progress – Yikes!)
So why did I tell you this?
Because, all too often we listen with absent ears; absent to our
own issues and focused on the issues of others, or absent to our
own drama and focused on how the message being shared can change
or fix someone else’s drama.
Unfortunately, we miss the
information that was divinely designed to benefit US merely
because our focus is on LOVING those around us. Please
don’t misunderstand me,
. There is NOTHING WRONG with
loving others; the point is that we must first learn to fully
love ourselves.
So,
,
begin to see things that you
learn or experience for how they can impact you, your habits,
your patterns, your opinions and your drama. Let’s vow to
focus on the beam of timber in our own eye…first (see What’s in
the Word below). Let’s vow to look in the mirror.
